One of the Kumano Sanzan shrines, serving as the grand head shrine of all Kumano shrines throughout Japan, located in the sacred sites and pilgrimage routes of the Kii Mountain Range.

Known as the sacred place of rebirth where the Yatagarasu (three-legged crow) descended.

The Kumano faith, believed to welcome all people, continues to draw an unending stream of visitors even after more than two thousand years since its founding, and this sacred place filled with prayers for rebirth captivates many who visit.

・From Tokyo/Nagoya
Take JR Kisei Main Line from Nagoya Station to Shingu Station, then take Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus (most frequent service), Nara Kotsu Bus, or Meiko Bus from the station to Hongu-cho, Tanabe City.

・From Kyoto/Osaka/Kobe
Take JR Kinokuni Line from Kyoto or Shin-Osaka to Kii-Tanabe Station, then take Ryujin Bus or Meiko Bus from the station to Hongu-cho, Tanabe City.
